The Dato Duo is supposed to be a synthesizer for kids. And it is definitely kid-friendly. Mine enjoy playing with all the buttons, knobs, and sliders. And you know what? I do too.
For this jam, I ran the Duo into the Korg NTS-1 for modulation, delay, and reverb. I also had my Keystep out of view and played the recurring pad theme using the NTS-1’s synth. Finally, I added the PO-32 for some rhythm. I got a little carried away with the distortion punch-in effect towards the end and had to automate some volume reduction in Ableton.
Once again, this is more of a meandering bit of parameter playing, but jams like this can be very meditative for me; a good stretch of time to just explore and not think about anything else.
